Pretty cold and blunt huh? Oh well, it happens. Those of us who have faith in our ability to tell a story, or give instructions to the masses, go on to self publish. Many choose to publish an e-book. There is a wide selection of reasonably priced software products on the market for creating your own e-book. Unfortunately, e-books have not gained the popularity many people expected them to. Readers obviously prefer real books. It doesn't make sense not to publish your own book if no one else will. You can get a print-on-demand book published in a matter of weeks for a reasonable amount of money. However, your manuscript will not be edited and you have to promote your own book. If you decide to self-publish you can hire an editor and book cover designer. Take control, become your own publisher, pay for the services you want, and keep whatever profits are realized in the end. It is also good to know that most first books don't clear the initial production cost. However, you will
succeed even if you never recoup your money. How? Family and friends
will love your book and consider it to be an heirloom. What better
place to invest your money than in yourself?
