Just My Best, Inc. plans to publish 6-8 books in 2005. We enjoy working with new authors who have finished their first manuscript. Since we work directly with authors they don't need an agent.

The author should do two complete edits on the manuscript before they submit it. Submit the entire manuscript via email.

Once the manuscript is submitted allow six weeks for a response.

We are not publishing books on poetry, religion, or erotica this year.

Self Publishing Has Gained Popularity

Self publishing has gained popularity in recent years. Many writers now turn to self publishing to get their books on the market. Self publishing offers the author choices as to how his book is formatted and the cover designed. In addition, those who self publish take the marketing of their books into their own hands. They will sell as many copies as they effectively peddle. One self publishing believer loaded his books into his van and traveled cross country, stopping along the way to sell books to gift shops, hospitals, flea marketers, and independent book stores. This self publishing genius saw his book wound up on the best seller list. It was all about marketing. If you are thinking about self publishing, be advised that you will reap what you sew. Do little self promotion and sell few books. Promote aggressively and sell a lot.

Many who decide to become a self publisher do so repeatedly. They write one book after another and choose to self publish. There are benefits in becoming a self publisher. The self publisher is in control of the marketing of his book. The self publisher does not have to endure rejection slips. The self publisher gets their book in print form faster. Many great authors choose to become self publishers. Mark Twain was a self publisher.

If you have a completed manuscript you might consider self publishing. To self publish gives one pride in their ability to carry the job to completion. When a writer chooses to self publish they are involved every step of the way. A writer who decides to self publish receives a valuable education. Writers become more aware of what traditional publishers go through, and hence are better equipped to deal with them once their book is accepted by a traditional publishing house.
